The crochet for the doily was finished yesterday, mostly done in the car, stuck in traffic on the way to IKEA. (yay IKEA stuff! will bore y’all with that some other day)
Pattern – Syvstjernen
Thread – DMC Cebelia #30
Needles – 1.5mm
Finished size – about 14″ across
Started in late June as a porta-project; about a month between start and finish but was only worked on in the car or while out and about.
Other notes – I’d done this doily last year in #10 thread ; it came out to be about 25″ across, though I didn’t do all the final stockinette rounds. See the craptacular picture!
This is my magical doily blocking board, aka, a cardboard box taped flat and coated with plastic wrap.
I tried to take pre-blocking pictures, but the doily was pretty pathetic. Even more pathetic were the pictures. Well, picture.
Cat tushie doily!
That makes the pictures in this entry rather backwards, eh, going from finished to while-blocking to unblocked. Oh well. Maybe this will be sufficiently entertaining to make up for it. Or not. Hows about this?
Rogue grafting is going swimmingly; I finished the entire back with only two inexplicable purls. The cable section, well, I might not show close-ups of that.
