Yesterday, in a fit of oddidditity, Parentlings wanted to go to the Half-Price Books in Sugar Land rather than the one in Clear Lake. (Gawd, suburbia names! Somebody save me!!!) It’s farther from here but has a better selection of books… though their music collection leaves something to be desired.
On the way over there, I half-jokingly mentioned the knitting group which meets in Sugar Land… which just happened to meet Sunday afternoons… at a coffee shop about 10 minutes away from the Half-Price Books.
Note to self: there is no such thing as “half-jokingly”. Mom & I dropped in on the group to see if there was anything interesting. I was working on the Kimono Shawl ; the other projects around the table were… scarf, pair of socks, scarf, scarf, mitten, and scarf.

Sorry. That was random. How about a picture of an angry cloud?
Snagged that picture as we were driving over to Sugar Land. Stormed something fiece for a bit, then blew on by… I have another picture that is not quite so slanty, but it has some weird blobs of “when was the last time this window was washed?” which I’m sure y’all are not interested in… which. A picture I’m sure y’all are in which not interested. Which in interested are not in. In which y’all are not interested. That’s it. I have a picture that is not quite so slanty, but it has some weird blobs of “when was the last time this window was washed?” in which y’all are not interested.
Oh, knitting. I blocked what part of the Kimono Shawl has been done earlier to find out how far from the gauge called for I am.
Pattern says: 21 sts x 30 rows = 4″
Knitting says: 18 sts x 24 rows = 4″
Vikkory dance (monkey) for having to knit less to get a decently lacy FO! Some people like mostly solid lace. I like holes and seethroughitude.
Or if for some silly reason you actually want to see the pattern –
(admittedly, the sidewalk is not the best model for such things.)
I blocked it to be about 26″ across but I could probably have made it wider if not for it still being on the needles. The tied-off bits of blue yarn more or less show that I’ve completed 6 pattern repeats. Length is about 30″… I think next time I won’t stretch it so much in that direction. Who knows.
Since these types of pictures are always so popular, how about me modelling it?
See? Y’all love my arm, don’t you?
Brotherling will be returning to the University of Houston bright and early Wednesday morning… should I change the countdown in the sidebar to be counting down the hours?
